The rules of the road for using AuctionCalc — written to be read, not just filed away.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of auctioncalc.co and the AuctionCalc salvage auction bid calculator and related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by AuctionCalc ("AuctionCalc," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
AuctionCalc provides a bid calculator for salvage and repairable-title vehicles sold at auction, including VIN decoding, parts and labor estimation, auction buyer-fee calculation, tax estimation, transport cost input, and a projected maximum bid ("max bid ceiling"). AuctionCalc offers calculators tailored to the United States (Manheim, Copart, IAAI) and Canadian (IAAI, Copart, OpenLane) markets.
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using AuctionCalc, you represent that you meet these requirements.
The core calculator is free to use and does not require an account or sign-up. Calculation data you enter is processed locally in your browser and stored, if you choose to save it, in your browser's local storage.
AuctionCalc offers optional paid plans (Starter, Builder, and Pro) billed monthly or yearly, as well as one-time Manual VIN Lookup packages. Builder-tier subscriptions include a 7-day free trial; if not cancelled before the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to a paid plan and your payment method is charged. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Billing, trial, and refund terms are described in full in our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Pricing is subject to change with reasonable notice.
AuctionCalc's calculations — including buyer fees, sales tax, parts and labor costs, transport, and max bid ceiling — are estimates for informational purposes only. They are based on data you enter and fee schedules we believe to be accurate at the time of publication, but auction fees, tax rates, and market values can change without notice. AuctionCalc does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currentness of any estimate, and you should independently verify all figures, including current buyer fees, with the relevant auction platform before bidding.
AuctionCalc does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and nothing on the Service should be construed as such. You are solely responsible for your own bidding, purchasing, and business decisions. AuctionCalc does not select vehicles for you or guarantee any particular outcome, profit, or resale value.
AuctionCalc is an independent, third-party tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Manheim, Copart, IAAI, OpenLane, or any other auction platform. References to these platforms and their fee schedules are used solely to describe compatibility with AuctionCalc's calculator.
Our VIN decode feature uses the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public vPIC API. AuctionCalc is not responsible for the accuracy or availability of this or any other third-party data source, and decode results should be verified against the vehicle's actual title and documentation.
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service's operation; (c) misrepresent your identity or affiliation; (d) resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written permission; or (e) use automated means to access the Service in a way that could disable, overburden, or impair it.
The Service, including its design, calculators, text, graphics, logos, and underlying code, is owned by AuctionCalc or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license to use the Service as intended, no rights are granted to you under these Terms.
If you submit information to us (for example, through our Contact Us form or by email), you grant AuctionCalc a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content solely to respond to you and improve the Service. Calculation data stored locally in your browser is not transmitted to us and remains under your control.
We may suspend or terminate your access to paid features of the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or suspected fraud or abuse. You may stop using the Service, or cancel a paid subscription, at any time.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CALCULATION OR ESTIMATE WILL BE ACCURATE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AUCTIONCALC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY BIDDING OR PURCHASING DECISION MADE USING AUCTIONCALC'S ESTIMATES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO AUCTIONCALC IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR $100 IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE ANY PAYMENT.
You agree to indemnify and hold AuctionCalc harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in AuctionCalc's jurisdiction of operation, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. (This section should be updated with your specific state/province of incorporation and registered business address before publishing.)
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

The fine print, made a little less fine.
Every auction you walk into without this, you're at a disadvantage.
Start your 7-day Builder trial — full access to VIN batch lookups, the fee calculator, and saved deal history.
Start Your7-Day TrialAuctionCalc is a purpose-built salvage auction calculator for the US used-car market. If you're bidding on repairable vehicles at Manheim, Copart, or IAAI auctions anywhere in the country, AuctionCalc works out your true acquisition cost in US dollars — combining parts sourced from suppliers like Car-Part.com and eBay.com, estimated body-shop labor, each platform's buyer-fee schedule, state sales tax, and transport back to your shop. The result is your max bid ceiling: the highest amount you can pay at auction and still hit your target profit.
Unlike a generic bid calculator, AuctionCalc applies damage- and theft-history adjustments to retail value, accounts for resale-certificate sales-tax exemptions that most licensed dealers qualify for, and decodes your VIN to auto-fill year, make, and model in seconds. Use it as your Manheim fee calculator, Copart fee calculator, IAAI fee calculator, and car-flipping profit estimator — all in USD, built for dealers and rebuilders bidding anywhere in the US.
